This Sunday the big event in road running is the Maurice Collins four mile fun run in Ardfert. The run begins at 10.30am at Ardfert Quarries and the four mile run is for adults and there is a special run for under-16. Dates for the Kerry under-14 Féile na nGael competitio­n are Saturday, April 28, and Saturday, May 5, with the Finals on Monday, May 7. It will be divided into three groups as follows: The A group will comprise of Abbeydorne­y, Ballyduff, Ballyheigu­e, Crotta, Lixnaw and Kenmare/Kilgarvan. The B Group will involve the four teams from the A group above who do not reach the final. The C Group will include Causeway, Kilmoyley, St Brendan’s, Tralee Parnell’s and South Kerry. The National Féile competitio­ns to be hosted by the Connacht GAA on the weekend of eight June 10. Kirby pointed for Austin Stacks and Alan Duggan pointed his second free to level the sides before Niall Barrett put Knocknagos­hel in the lead with a free to leave the score at half time 0-4 to 0-3 in favour of the home team. In the second half both teams traded points early on before Cian Liston was in the right place to tap the ball to the net to give Austin Stacks the lead for the first time in the game.

Knocknagos­hel responded well to this setback with a point from John Walsh and a sweet move which ended in Niall Barrett striking for goal. Alan Duggan, who played well for the visitors throughout had two points on either side of a John Walsh point for Knocknagos­hel before Cian Liston ploughed through for Austin Stacks and rattled the net to put his side two points to the good heading into the home stretch

Final score was Knocknagos­hel 1-9 Austin Stacks B 2-7.
