Stars of Kilflynn Bars to hit high notes
THE final countdown is on to the 2018 ‘Stars of the Bars’ in aid of St Teresa’s National School in Kilflynn which takes place this Friday, April 13, at 8pm in Parker’s and Herbert’s bars.
The event is being organised by the Parents’ Association and the Board of Management at St Teresa’s National School who have come together to secure funding for a WIFI network at the village school.
Each contestant will get to perform two songs on the night and they will be sponsored by a local business or organisation. Judges will operate between both bars and it promises to be a memorable occasion. There will even be a ‘judge’s choice’ and a ‘public vote choice award’ on the night.
The judges entrusted with deciding who reigns supreme in the singing stakes are Councillors Toiréasa Ferris and Aoife Thornton, and former Minister Jimmy Deenihan.
A fourth judge will be added to the panel in the coming days said the organisers.
It’s also a great opportunity for people to promote their business and organisation.
To date 14 local businesses and orginisations have come on board and there’s room for more.
So if you fancy yourself as a singer – or you already know someone who does – then a chance to be a ‘star of the bar’ is a must opportunity.
“We’re looking forward to what promises to be a fun night. It’s also an opportunity for us, as a community, to make a positive contribution to our school’s facilities,” said Ide Brosnan, Principal of St Teresa’s National School.
