BRYAN CARR’S TALENTED TROUPE KEEP CROWDS SMILING ALL WEEK LONG

A BRYAN Carr production never fails to entertain and this past week’s latest show was again no different, as ‘Hairspray’ delighted audiences in Tralee’s Siamsa Tíre theatre.

A stage school now almost 10 years in business, Bryan wanted to pull out all the stops for this year’s show and he certainly succeeded, with over 120 performers taking part in the colourful mystical tale.

“It went wonderfully, it was a really great show. We had three busy days and four busy shows so we’re all a little exhausted at the moment, especially the kids!” Bryan laughed, speaking to The Kerryman on Monday morning.

“We did a lot of rotation during the shows. The first hour of the show was the children performing ‘Hairspray’ and then it was followed by all of the kids doing their class extracts. Every child got to sing on stage throughout all the four shows which was important,” he continued.

With a little bit of time to catch their breath now, the thoughts of Bryan and his performers are already turning to September and the start of the performing school’s 10year anniversary.

“We’re running through a number of different options at the moment of plays or musicals that we might do. Legally Blonde and Peter Pan are ones that have been mentioned, but nothing is set in stone yet,” he said.

“It’s definitely exciting times ahead for us all.”

Whatever happens though, the school and its cast are in safe hands with Bryan and his 16 years of experience, at the helm.
