The death occurred of Michael Leen, Bellinter, Navan, Co. Meath and Ballyheigu­e, Co. Kerry. Michael will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Eileen, sons Michael, Richard and Brian, daughters Helen and Rita, daughters-in-law Cecilie, Finola, and Sharon, Sons-in-law Mauaricio, grandchild­ren Emma, Maria, Eoin, Ava, Ciaran and Nicole. Brothers Patrick and Brendan, sister Joan, brothers-in-law, sistersaun­ts, uncles nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at his residence on Saturday. Removal on Sunday to the Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Kilmessan for funeral Mass followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.

The Annual General Meeting of Ballylongf­ord Tidy Towns will take place on Wednesday April 25th at 8:00pm in the Parish Hall. Reports on last year’s progress will be addressed as well as plans for 2018/2019. Your support and suggestion­s would be greatly appreciate­d. HISTORY LECTURE

A lecture entitled ‘Sinn Féin Food Committee vs. the Earl of Listowel’ by historian, author & Listowel native Kay Caball will take place in the Seanchaí -Kerry Writers’ Museum, Listowel on Sunday April 22nd at 7 pm. OBITUARY

The death has occurred of William Connell (Bill), of Cappacloug­h East, Camp, Corcullen, Galway/Newry, Co. Down and GMIT, Galway. Bill passed away peacefully in the loving care of his family at Malaga Regional University Hospital, Spain. The news of his passing was met with sadness in Camp where he made many friends down through the years. Bill was interested in everything going on in the village. And on our Camp town twinning visits Bill’s excellent linguistic competence enabled our Glomellian and Asturian visitors to communicat­e with our Camp famiiies and friends , ensuring that all enjoyed a lovely experience and holiday.

Bill is survived by his wife Kathleen, sons, Ciarán, Seán, daughter Cliona Beaulieu and Aisling Snedker, sons in law, , Robert and Neil and daughter-in-law Ann, sister Margaret, brothers Joe and Pat, grandchild­ren Connor, Ciara, Méadhbh, Ailbhe, Cian, Eibhlinn, Aodh, Kristin and by his extended family and friends. Bill was predecease­d by his sister Rosaleen, May and Kathleen and brother Michael.

Camp Community and friends formed a guard of honour outside St. Marys Church on Friday. Fr. Gerry Keane PP assisted by Fr. Michael Kelly, Galway and Rev. Phyllis Jones celebrated the requiem Mass followed by burial at Camp Cemetary.
