Celebration at Divanes for the Cordal GAA’s new jersey set

-

CORDAL GAA Club teams are proudly wearing their new jerseys this season. They are carrying their traditional blue and gold colours and the logo of Divanes Castleisland into the various competitions on fields throughout the county.

There was an official presentation at Divanes Castleisland on Saturday at noon at which all sectors of the club were represented.

Divanes Castleisland Managing Director Denis Divane wished the club well with the new strip and he hoped that they would enjoy many successes while wearing it.

The club representation was led by Chairman Maurice Costello on the occasion. Mr Costello thanked Divanes, Castleisland, for supporting the club in this important aspect of its appearance and presentation for both home and away games.

He said that the club would wear the colours and logo with pride and he hoped that the new jerseys would bring success to the club’s senior and juvenile players throughout the summer season and beyond.

Now, those pledges have been honoured and the final count came up as a hugely impressive €7,990

“We don’t know yet if it will become an annual event and that will be decided as time goes on.

“But we’re delighted at the amount of money raised on the day for the charity. Due to circumstances beyond our control we couldn’t hold the presentation of the cheque any sooner,” said Joan Marie O’Shea of the organising committee.

“We would like to thank everyone who made the effort to take part on the day and all who helped out in any way. We’d like to thank the mart in Castleisland for the use of the yard and to the Gardai for their help and to Cunniffe’s Bar here in Currow,” said Ms O’Shea
