JIMMY FALVEY MEMORIAL YOUTH CUP SEMI-FINAL

Killarney Celtic 4 Tralee Dynamos 0

THE two Jimmy Falvey Memorial Cup semi-finals were a double header at Mounthawk Park on Saturday and after two very competitive games it is Killarney Celtic and The Park who go forward to meet in the final which will be a repeat of the Munster Youths Cup Kerry area final which was won by The Park.

The first game between Killarney Celtic and Tralee Dynamos fell short of expectations with Celtic winning it with considerable ease at the end.

Most of the game was played in driving rain which made conditions very difficult for players but they rose to the challenge admirably and done their best to cope with the adverse weather conditions.

Dynamos started the game brightly but it was flattery to deceive as they found Celtic too strong to cope with as the game progressed.

Unfortunately the players they expected to shine underperformed and it was always going to be an uphill battle to match their opponents.

Dynamos had an early chance but Dillon Robinson fired his shot wide.

They followed this up by winning a corner kick which Tony Duggan floated into the goalmouth putting the Celtic rearguard under pressure and the ball was taken off the line by Jordan Leahy.

Gradually Celtic began to establish their authority on the game and they went ahead in the 23rd minute.

A free kick out on the sideline was delivered into the goalmouth by Gary Vaughan and when the ball landed in front of goals Pierse Lyne prodded it to the net from close range.

They doubled their lead in the 39th minute when Darragh Fleming was taken down in the box by Eddie Galvin and referee Anthony Morrison pointed to the spot.

Liam Spillane made no mistake with the spot kick driving it low to the bottom corner of the net.

Celtic put themselves in cruise control just before the break when Ryan Kelliher scored their third goal with a superb finish.

Any chance Dynamos had of getting back into the game went out the window in the 69th minute when Eddie Galvin was sent off for a second yellow card offence.

Dynamos had a decent chance to manufacture a goal in the 80th minute when they got a free kick just outside the box but Dillon Robinson could not generate enough power in his shot and it was easily saved by the Celtic keeper.

Celtic put the icing on the cake in the 85th minute with Ryan Kelliher playing in the superb Lee Downing and he applied a great finish.
