ANAM Cara Kerry, an organisation that supports bereaved parents, is hosting its monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 12, from 7.30pm-9pm.

The free event will take place in Recovery Haven, 5 Haig’s Terrace in Killierisk, Tralee.

The meeting offers parents a safe and comfortable forum where they can connect with other bereaved parents who will understand the depth of their grief and loss.

This event is open to all bereaved parents, regardless of the age of the child or children, the circumstances of their death, or whether this was recent or not. EXCITEMENT is building in Castlegregory as the area prepares to play host to its first Horse and Pony Racing festival since 1938.

The Horse and Pony racing festival, which will be under starter’s orders at 11am on Saturday June 17, is being billed by organisers as a revival of sorts and Dylan Fitzgerald is excited about the upcoming event.

“It’s a Horse and Pony racing festival or ‘flats’ as it’s better known and it’s a meeting leading up to the big Dingle Festival in August,” said organiser, Dylan, speaking to on Tuesday.

“It’ll all be taking place on Stradbally Strand which is about a mile outside of Castlegregory; I’m very excited about it – it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for quite a while now and finally, I decided to do it.”

“There’s been great support locally and there’s been a lot of work put into it, so we can’t wait for everything to get going,” he finished.

And if the recent weather is anything to go by, and we don’t want to jinx it by any means, a great day out should be guaranteed. The Kerryman
