SENIORS: The Ballyheigue senior hurlers were defeated by Lixnaw in the Co. League on Monday evening. Score Ballyheigue 0-14 and Lixnaw 0-16.
UNDER-14 FOOTBALL: The U-14 football team lost out to Listowel Emmets in the Div 5 Co. League final. Full time score Ballyheigue 5-7 Listowel Emmets 5-16.
UNDER-11: The Ballyheigue U-11 hurlers had a great victory over Abbeydorney on Friday evening in the North Kerry Championship. FIXTURES: Co. Senior Hurling league Div. 2 Ballyheigue “B” v Kilgarvan at Kilgarvan on Sunday 2.00pm. BALLYHEIGUE GAA BECOMES SMOKE-FREE: The GAA are now encouraging all clubs to become smoke-free zones. Ballyheigue GAA sports-field, club rooms and surrounding grounds will become a smoke/Ecigarette-free area at all times from Saturday 2nd June.
To support this initiative the primary school children from Ballyheigue took part in a poster competition. Ann Hennessy, Artist and owner of Tubrid Studios, will kindly judge the competition and the winners will be announced at the smoke-free launch. There will be one winner from the under 8 category and one winner from the 9 and over category. The winners’ posters will remain proudly on display in our Club Rooms.
We would like to invite you and your family to the launch of this smoke free initiative and announcement of the poster competition winners.
This will take place at 12pm on Saturday 2nd June. We will provide light refreshments in the club rooms where all the children=92s posters will be on display. Go raibh maith agaibh go léir.
