KETB CERTIFIES EXCELLENCE
HUNDREDS QUALIFY IN COURSES AT KETB AWARDS NIGHT AT ROSE HOTEL
HOURS upon hours of painstaking study and training paid off in spades for up to 500 students of all ages on receipt of their qualifications at an awards ceremony in The Rose Hotel recently.
470 certificates were issued by the KETB Training Centre on the big night, recognising diligence and competence in a vast range of course categories.
Students achieved certification across 40 courses in full; ranging between the following categories: Business and Office Administration; Culinary Arts; Engineering and Construction; First Aid; Health and Safety; Hairdressing and Beauty; Healthcare and Childcare; Information and Communication Technologies; Marketing; Media, Multimedia and Photography; Security Studies; Sports, Recreation and Exercise and, appropriate for such a stunning county, Tour Guiding.
“Our focus is on skills training, up-skilling people for work and progression in a wide range of courses, some of which are being awarded here tonight,” Training Centre Assistant Manager Christy Enright told the large gathering on the night, adding:
“To the people receiving awards, your families and friends, this is your night, a time to give yourselves a pat on the back and say well done. Your award will help you progress to further education and training, work and, maybe, sometime in the future you might consider to come back to Kerry ETB Training Centre to up-skill and re-skill again”.
Guest Speaker was Radio Kerry presenter Brendan Fuller, who gave a very humorous speech about his own training experience with the centre in 2012/’13 and how it helped him achieve his current role as a presenter.
