Lotto: The lotto draw for a jackpot of €7300 was held on Saturday night last in Roche’s Bar, Knocknagoshel. The numbers drawn were 4, 12, 20 and 31. There was no winner of the jackpot. The five lucky dips of €30 each drawn went to Laura Parkinson Kilflynn, Mary McAuliffe Knocknagoshel Village, Noreen Thompson Meenleitrim, Con O’Donoghue Tooreenagown and Michelle O’Connor Meenganaire. The next draw will be for a jackpot of €7400 and will be held in Moynihan’s Bar Headleysbridge, on Saturday 7th of July. Tickets are available from Kieran’s XL, Leahy’s Post Office, the local bars and usual sellers. John McGrath opened the scoring with a point from play for the visitors. Knocknagoshel replied with a point from play from full forward John O’Keeffe. Donagh O’Brien got the visitor’s first goal with a lobbing shot that dipped in to the top corner out of reach of the Knocknagoshel goalkeeper. Paudie Griffin who looked lively throughout turned his man and ran in along the endline to score their second goal. Their forwards combined very well in this period with some slick passing in contrast to some poor passing from the home team.
