DUAGH/LYRE COMMUNITY GAMES
CYCLING ON GRASS
In a sunny and warm Na Gaeil Gaa field last friday night the County Community games finals in cycling on grass took place. Duagh/Lyre Community Games cycling on grass participants under the watchful eye of coach Andy Keane put in a super effort and left with silverware, 3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze and 1 certificate. The course was tough and testing with a big pull up at the far side, the cyclist had a number of hot spots in the race where they added vital points. First up in the u12 boys was Luke Sheridan new to cycling on grass and winning gold. U12 girls gold for Angharad Cudlipp followed by the U14 boys with Gold for Fearghal Cudlipp, silver Dermot O’Brien and 4th for Jack Sheehy taking the certificate. In the U14 girls with tough competition was Nuala Moloney, it was neck and neck for a number of rounds and in the end Nuala took second winning the silver. Congratulations to all our participants and best of luck to gold medal winners now going forward to represent Kerry in National finals in August. We are so proud of everyone’s effort in training and competition. Thanks to Andy Keane for preparing the competitors.
