ST SENANS
Dennehy, Lixnaw were well below their usual self. Lixnaw now play Ardfert and Crotta in the final two rounds which they need to win to qualify for the knockout stages. Better luck for the seniors who had a 3-21 to 2-14 win over an under strength Abbeydorney in the final round of the county league Div 1. Lixnaw didn’t make the play off stages having won only two of their games. Championship next up for Lixnaw.

SENIOR CO. LEAGUE: St Senans 2-12 Waterville 1-10
Waterville made the long trip to a sun drenched Mountcoal on Sunday last. The home side made the better start but Waterville pulled them back and went a point ahead mid way through the first half, however Senans responded with some fine points to lead two points at the break.
Waterville levelled matters early in the second half, but Barry Mahony’s goal in the last quarter gave the home side breathing space. The backs were defending well at this stage and scores were hard to come by. Senans second goal by Eoin O’Connell in the closing minutes saw Senans claim two valuable league points.
Thank you to Lynch’s Bakery and the local ladies for the delicious food after the match.
