GRADUATION MASS

A special graduation mass for sixth class pupils of the local Scoil Náisiúnta took place in Templeglantine Church on Monday last. It was attended by all the school pupils, staff, parents, family members and others. It was a very fitting ceremony for the occasion with choir and music provided by the pupils. The celebrant, Fr Mullane complimented them on their preparation for the mass and thanked them for their contribution to church ceremonies during the past year and wished the graduating sixth class every success as they complete their primary education and move on to second level. Afterwards pupils and parents enjoyed light refreshments in Halla Inse Bhán. Guímid gach rath ar rang a sé agus iad ag fágaint na scoile ar an Aoine seo.

TIDY TOWNS

Storm Hector gave the area a battering the week before last leaving a lot of debris which has to be gathered. The plants and flowers survived fairly well despite the windy conditions. It is the time of year when the judges for the Tidy Towns competition are out and about. People are asked to be extra vigilant about litter and pick up any stray rubbish in passing. The weekly work hours take place on Thursday nights as well as the regular Monday nights at present so if anyone is available to help out, do come along and bring a friend.
