CÚL CAMPS : Hurling Cúl Camp will take place in Abbeydorney from 23rd to 27th July. Cost is €60 per child with with reductions for additional members of families. U14 : Our U14 team defeated St. Brendan’s Ardfert last Saturday afternoon, making it 3 wins from 3 in the North Kerry U14 C’Ship. Final Score : Abbeydorney 5-14 St. Brendan’s Ardfert 3-03. Next fixture: Abbeydorney -v- Tralee Parnells, Saturday 7th July in Abbeydorney @ 530pm.

MINORS : Round 1 of the Co. League will take place this Thursday 5th July @ 7.30pm in Kilgarvan against Kenmare/ Kilgarvan. INTERMEDIATE : The draw for the Co. Intermediate Hurling C’Ship took place last Sunday evening and Abbeydorney are drawn against Dr. Crokes in the Preliminary Round. This game is due to take place on Wednesday, 11th July @ 7.30pm in Abbeydorney. SENIORS : We unfortunately bowed out of the Co. Senior C’Ship following a 6 point defeat to St. Brendan’s, Ardfert last Sunday afternoon in Austin Stacks Park. A disappointing end to the Co. C’Ship campaign overall. Duaghs Shanahan had 2 points from play to increase the Duagh lead and Tom Scanlon again from play restored a 3 point lead for Duagh. With half time approaching Asdee had a great patch with Eoin Tydings, Darragh Keane and Jack Keane all pointing to level the scores 0-5 all at half time. On resumption Kieran Quirke pointed from play for Duagh but 3 points from play by Cyril Dineen,(2) and Darragh Keane put Asdee in the lead for the first time. Dan O Donoghue and Scannell pointed for Duagh but Mike Breen and Conor Keane restored the Asdee lead by 20th minute. Scannell then pointed for Duagh on 25th minute followed by a pointed free for Asdee on 26th minute by Mike Breen. Michael Kirby for Duagh and Darragh Keane for Asdee then had points and Asdee were 2 up with the end approaching. A good move for Duagh followed with the ball ending in the Asdee net however the umpire and referee consulted and deemed it a square ball and it was disallowed. Duagh reduced the gap to a point but a good Asdee move along the sideline ended with a point, the final score and Asdee were winners by 2.

SENIORS: The Ballyheigue Senior Hurlers made their exit from this year’s Garvey’s SuperValu Championship when they lost to Kilmoyley on Saturday evening at Austin Stack’s Park. Full time score Ballyheigue 1-11 and Kilmoyley 3-18. Ballyheigue scorers were: Ronan Kenny o-1, Garry Galway 0-1, Sean Colgan 0-2, Philip Lucid 0-5 and Michael Leane, 1-2 who had an outstanding game and a display that must make him Man-of-the -Match.
