Ceallúnach Mass

A MASS will take place at the Ceallúnach in Lios Deargáin, Lispole on Thursday , July 12, at 8pm.

Situated on Begley’s land in Lios Deargáin, the early Christian site on the hillside above the road between Lispole and Dingle was the one of the locations in West Kerry where unbaptised children were buried. According to Mass organiser Páidí Ahearne, burials took place up at the site until the 1940s. This is the latest in a series of blessing of Ceallúnachs that have taken place in recent years. Last summer a Mass was celebrated at Ballintaggart.

Parking will be available in nearby Lios Deargáin and directions to the site will be provided on the evening.
