1. TRALEE TO HOLD CHARITY COLOUR RUN

A fundraisin­g colour run for CMRF Crumlin will take place later this month.

The 5km colour dash takes place on Sunday July 15 at 11am from the Tralee Bay Wetlands; this event is open to all walkers, joggers and runners.

2. RUNNERS SET FOR BRANDON BAY RUN

IT’S that time of year again as the Brandon Bay Half Marathon and 10k run gets set to take place on the morning of Saturday July 14.

The run will start and finish at Fahamore Beach in the Maharees; the half marathon will start at 10:30am and the 10k run will start at 11:30am.

Late regisatrat­ion for this event will take place on Friday July 13 in The Clubrooms from 5pm to 11pm.

3. A BOUNTIFUL AFTERNOON IN CULLEN

CULLEN locals are looking forward to a fantastic afternoon this weekend as they prepare to host their annual Harvest Afternoon.

Taking place on Sunday July 15 for the 20th time, the afternoon will feature old time threshing, vintage cars and tractors and much more on the day.

Raffle prizes on the day include Nathan Carter tickets and Daniel O’Donnell tickets. Refreshmen­ts will be provided on the day.

4. NIGHT AT THE DOGS FOR VITAL UHK FUNDS

THE annual fundraisin­g greyhound meeting for the ‘Friends of University Hospital Kerry’ will take place this Friday July 13 in the greyhound stadium in Tralee.

Tickets for the night will cost just €5 and they can be bought on the door on the night. Additional­ly, each ticket will then be entered into a draw with chances to win hundreds of euro.

The night, which will start at 7pm, will look to raise enough funds for the purchase of vital equipment for the hospital; don’t miss out on this great night of fun for a worthy cause.

5. A WALK TO REMEMBER IN BALLYBUNIO­N

THE ‘Walk to Remember’ 5km charity walk will take place in Ballybunio­n on Sunday July 15.

The walk will begin outside the Sea Rescue Base on Ladies Beach at 2pm and it will see people walking across the beach; this walk is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Don’t miss out on this great and worthy evening - sign up as soon as possible.

6. SANDSTORM BACK AT BALLYHEIGU­E

BALLYHEIGU­E beach is set to be a hive of activity this weekend as the hugely popular ‘Sandstorm’ event returns to the beach.

Sponsored by Spin South West and Fanta, ‘Sandstorm’ will be a 5km beach run full of challengin­g obstacles, including a tyre mound, a net crawl and the eight foot wall.

7. CHRISTY MOORE TO PLAY IN BALLYBUNIO­N

THE musical legend that is Christy Moore is set to pull out all the stops in Ballybunio­n this weekend as he plays two intimate shows in the town.

Christy is set to play two sold out shows in the Tinteán Theatre on Friday July 13 and again on Saturday July 14.

8. BORN TO RUN HOLDING ITS 40 MILE LOOPED RACE

FOR those hardy runners out there, there is still time for you to register your place in one of the best locally organised race here in Kerry.

The 40-mile ultra marathon and relay will take place on Saturday July 28 at 7am. Runners have the option of completing the four mile looped course ten times all by themselves or they can choose to enter as part of a two person or a four person relay team; To register for the event head over to www. borntorune­vents.ie.

9. KILGOBNET PREPS FOR 4 MILE RUN/WALK

RETURNING to Kilgobnet for an astounding 29th year this year will be the annual four mile memorial run/walk in memory of Fr Michael Kelliher.

This years run will take place on Friday July 20 at 8pm; start venue to be confirmed soon.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.
