TIDY TOWNS

The weekend weather brought some very welcome rain to freshen up the growth in the area. The natural rain was a big change from the variety from the ‘liquid menu’ that the plants were experiencing during the dry spell: cold tea, cabbage water, dish water, rinsing water, shower water, stream/river water and whatever else one managed to collect. It was a good experience in creating awareness about the amount of water that is wasted and the amount that could be recycled. Well done to all who took water conservation seriously. Work hours continue on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

SEISIÚN

The Comhaltas Seisiún summer show was again quite successful at the Devon Inn on Thursday evening last. There was a good attendance and the top quality music, singing and dancing was enjoyed by all present. Among the audience were many of those who have been regular supporters over the past few seasons as well as some visitors from abroad. In the informal second part of the traditional show some musicians from the audience joined the performing group and beautiful singing was provided by Dan, Katie, Sarah (on holidays from Australia), Noel and Gerry. The Seisiún shows continue on Thursdays during July and up to mid-August and get under way at 8.30 p.m., finishing at 10.30 p.m.
