Brand-new Alzheimers Centre planned for Ard Chúram Centre
Purpose-built centre is planned for Ard Chúram
THE development of a new purpose-built Alzheimer’s Day Care Centre has been announced for north Kerry.
The development of the new centre was announced by the Ard Chúram Day Care Centre North Kerry CLG and Listowel Family Resource Centre CLG.
The news was welcomed by both groups, saying that, with the completion of the centre, all Alzheimer’s services which are currently running from the Listowel Family Resource Centre will now transfer to recently constructed Ard Chúram Day Care Centre – North Kerry CLG, on the grounds of Listowel Hospital.
The new centre will be located in the same complex on the grounds. Both groups said that they appreciate all support from the community towards this initiative and its fundraising efforts. All funds raised will be directed to Ard Chúram to assist with construction costs.
“This exciting development will allow for best practice in the care, dignity and support for people with dementia and their families,” said Listowel Family Resource Centre Community Development Co- Ordinator Bridie Mulvihill.
“We are absolutely delighted that Ard Chúram has been allocated additional grounds by the HSE for this development.
“We are very appreciative of the support provided by the HSE,” said Ard Chúram Building Sub Committee Chairperson Brendan O’Sullivan.
