Honda 50s hit the road for Kerry Parents & Friends
HONDA 50 enthusiasts are once again being invited on the road for a very worthy cause at this year’s Mid Kerry Honda Run.
The annual Honda 50 Run takes place next Sunday, July 29, and it is hoped that this year’s run will be bigger and better than last year.
Funds from last year’s event were handed over last week to Kerry Parents and Friends Association for their Buy-a-Bus campaign, which is aiming to ensure that the local organisation has transport for all of its service users. They have already purchased a number of buses, to transport its clients around the county.
The organisation is very grateful for all the support and the funds raised at last year’s Mid Kerry Honda 50 run. It is hoped to raise even more funds again this year for the organisation, which will also be the beneficiary of this year’s Honda run.
Funds have also been raised for cancer research and for the Clodagh O’Shea fund from the event.
The Mid Kerry Honda Run will travel from Beaufort to Cahersiveen via Ballaghasheen – a distance of around 70 miles, – making it a fantastic day out for Honda 50 enthusiasts. The run starts at 11.15pm next Sunday from The Inn Between in Beaufort, and food will be served there for all participants after the run. Entry is €20.
Organisers of the Mid Kerry Honda Run are Tom Kelliher, and Ger and Gene O’Sullivan, and they are calling on as many Honda 50 owners as possible to come and take part. They also thanked their sponsors for all their support.
“It is going to be a great day out and it will raise funds for a very good cause,” says Tom.
“This is now an annual event and we hope to make it bigger this year.”
