There was no winner of the €2,000 jackpot for July 16. Numbers drawn by John O’Halloran were 14, 17, 18 and 21. PARISH OUTING 2018.

All roads lead to Dingle this year for our annual Parish Outing on Thursday, August 2, We will begin the day with Mass at 9.30 a.m. in Kilmoyley Church before heading west for the day. Dinner will be served at 7.30 p.m. in McHales, Causeway, followed by music with Stevie till late. Cost is €30. Please contact any member of committee or 087 2076553 to book your place.

GRAVEYARD MASS

Mass will be celebrated in Reilig Naomh Erc (Kilmoyley New) on Friday, July 27, at 8 p.m. Please take this as an opportunit­y to have family plots tidied. Tidy Towns ThursdaysI­f you feel like helping around the parish, Tidy Towns Thursdays continues every week with a different part of the parish being tackled each Thursday. New members are encouraged to join each and every week, so if you too would like to take part we usually meet at the church at 7 p.m. and enjoy a cuppa at Lerrig Stores after.

ATHLETICS

St Brendan’s AC had a busy weekend on a number of fronts. At the final weekend of the national juvenile athletics championsh­ips in Tullamore, Darragh Courtney got a bronze medal in the high jump with a leap of 1.93m. Aaron Malik was sixth in the discus and also competed in the pole vault. Eimear O’Sullivan was a creditable seventh in the 3,000m with a time of 11-57.94 and will no doubt learn from the experience.

At the Munster B championsh­ips in Cork, Ben O’Connor won gold in the undernine long jump and Matthew O’Sullivan got a silver medal in the same discipline at under-11 level. Also competing in these championsh­ips with good performanc­es were Aaron and Kevin Horgan, who performed well once again.

On Sunday, St Brendan’s AC took over the running of the junior Parkrun in Tralee and the event was well managed by Moira Horgan and her team. Over 100 children of all ages took part and it was a great occasion. The Parkrun is open to everyone and to all abilities and is aimed at health and fun and is held every Sunday for children at 9.30 a.m. in Tralee. Informatio­n is available from the Parkrun site. There is a Parkrun for adults on Saturday mornings at 9.30 a.m.
