FOYNES AIR SHOW

The West of Ireland’s largest ever air show will take place on this coming Saturday in neighbouri­ng Foynes in Co. Limerick. The fifth annual Foynes Air Show will commence at midday. The show is part of the Aviation Ireland campaign by the IAA with Foynes being the focus for the Western seaboard and Bray Air Display catering for those on the East coast. Patrons attending will witness daredevil aerobatics display on the day. Military and civilian aircraft from all over Europe will entertain the crowds and also included will be McFadden’s Fun-Fair, Food Stands, and Free Family Street Entertainm­ent with Free Air Show at 2 p.m.

BEREAVEMEN­T

Sincere sympathy is extended to Maureen Moloney Duagh and all family relatives on the sad passing of Edward Ned Joe (The Power) Mahoney RIP late of Kilgarvin Ballylongf­ord, who died on Friday last, July 20, in the wonderful care of nurses and staff in St Joseph’s Listowel. Ned or the ‘Power’ as he was more affectiona­tely called was a very well known, well liked and very popular figure around the community for many a year as he lived in Kilgarvin just two miles from Ballylongf­ord in which he was a daily visitor to the village. Some years back however he moved to Duagh to be with his sister where he had resided up till recently. Ned’s remains lay in repose at Lyon’s Funeral Home Derry Listowel on Tuesday evening last with removal to St Bridget’s Church, Duagh. Burial took place on (Today) Wednesday after 11 a.m. Requiem Mass to Killehenny Cemetery Ballybunio­n. Sympathy is also extended to Joan Barrett and family of Well Street, on the sad passing of her brother Pat Barrett RIP who died in Chicago during the last week. Sympathy is also extended to Bernadette Hanrahan of Rusheen on the sad passing of her Uncle Tom O’Sullivan RIP of Bunagra, Listowel, who died on Thursday last. May they rest in peace.
