WITH another school year just around the corner, they are wasting no time at Ardfert N.S in getting the kids up to speed for the new year.

Continuing its penchant for health and exercise, the school has organised its second annual kids cycle which will take place on Sunday September 16.

After the success of the inaugural event last year where 58 excited children took part, the school are hoping that turn out at this years event will be even better.

Next months cycle will give children the option of either a 5km or 10km cycle; they will be led out on the day by the community garda and also past pupil David Fitzgerald.

“I’m delighted with how the cycle went last year and we are thrilled to once again be associated with an event that encourages children to make positive life choices in getting out and participating in great exercise,” said Betty Stack, Principal of the school.

Afterwards, there will be a great family atmosphere as children will be presented with both a party bag and a medal.

Participants must be aged 8 and over and be accompanied by an adult. Registration fee for the fun cycle is €10 per child or €25 per family (three children or more).
