CASTLEISLAND DESMONDS
SENIORS: An under strength Senior team lost their final county league game to Austin Stacks and narrowly missed promotion to Division 1. The loss of 3 home games proved decisive but they finished a hugely credible 4th with 14 points.
The Juniors qualified for the 2nd round of the Barrett cup after Kerins O Rahillys conceded a walk over.
The Ladies Senior team were defeated by Killarney in the s/f of the county senior championship in Castleisland last Sunday by 4-11 to 0-9. Thanks to Tommy Dom and the team for their effort. Congratulations to Eddy Regan and the girls U15 team who won the county B championship after defeating Scartaglen in the final in Curranes by 5-5 to 4-7. Well done to a very proud Eddy Regan. The U12 boys defeated Keel at home last Monday by 5-8 to 0-11.
The U14 boys put in a great performance but lost a thriller to Cordal/Scart by 2-11 to 4-11 on Friday evening. Congratulations to the Castleisland District team who had a convincing win over South Kerry by 3-16 to 2-7 in the Desmond’s field on Wednesday evening. They play Feale Rangers in their final game in their group but have qualified for the county championship s/f. Congratulations to Desmond’s players - Tadhg O Shea, Colm Roche, Mark Hickey, PJ Curtin, David Dillon and Dominic Finnegan. FIXTURES: Mon: U12 boys away to Ardfet. Tues: The Minors play Beale in the North Kerry league s/f at 7.00. Thurs: U14 girls v Corcha Dhuibhne in the North Kerry league at home. Fri: The Juniors play Ballydonoghue in the 2nd round of the Barrett cup at home at 6.45. Best wishes to Ethan Reidy and the Kerry Minor team who play Galway in the All Ireland final in Croke Park on Sunday at 1.00. They defeated Monaghan in the s/f by 1-16 to 2-11.
