Co Minor Final: Heartbreak for the Ballyheigue/Causeway Minor hurling team who lost by a single point in the Co. Championship Final in Austin Stacks on Sunday. Abbeydorney had the aid of wind in the First Half. The teams went in level 8 points each. The Ballyheigue scorers in the opening half were Nathan Guerin 0-5, Gavin Dooley 0-2 and Colin Walsh 0-1. The Ballyheigue/Causeway team had the help the wind in second half but was Abbeydorney that went ahead with a point. Then a great goal from stick of Dan Goggin to put Ballyheigue/Causeway team ahead. Midway through second half disaster struck when Abbeydorney scored two quick goal to put them 6 points ahead. Fair play to Ballyheigue/Causeway boys never gave up with points from Gavin Dooley, Brendan Walsh and five points from the wonderful Nathan Guerin who gave an exhibition of points scoring from play and frees. He scored a total of ten points. A draw may have been a fair result, but it was not to be and Abbeydorney held out for a single point win. Final Score Ballyheigue /Causeway
