North Kerry championsh­ip semi-finals fixed for Friday evening

THE semi-finals of the Rhyno Quality Feeds North Kerry Senior Hurling Championsh­ip [John Joe O’Sullivan Memorial Cup] are fixed for this Friday, September 7 when Causeway are at home to Kilmoyley and Ballyduff meet Lixnaw at Ballyduff. Both games have a 6.30pm starting time with extra time if necessary.

Quarter final results from Friday last: Kilmoyley 2-12 Abbeydorne­y 2-4; Causeway got a walkover from St Brendans; Lixnaw 2-11 Crotta 1-12; Ballyduff 4-15 Ballyheigu­e 0-9.

Minor

ST Brendans won the County Minor Hurling League Division 1B title on Monday evening last at Abbeydorne­y when they had a 2-17 to 2-10 win over Tralee Parnells. Seamus O’Halloran was the St Brendans captain.

Under 21

RESULTS from the two quarter finals of the North Kerry Under 21 Championsh­ip from last weekend-Causeway 4-13 Crotta 2-12; Lixnaw 0-14 St. Brendan’s 0-13.

The Round 1 draw for the County Under 21 Championsh­ip is as follows: St Brendans v Crotta O’Neills; Abbeydorne­y/Ballyheigu­e v Kenmare / Kilgarvan; Lixnaw v Ballyduff and Causeway v Kilmoyley. These games are provisiona­lly fixed for Saturday, September 15 at 4pm.

Coiste na nÓg

BALLYDUFF are the 2018 County Under 16 Hurling champions following their 2-20 to 1-5 win over Abbeydorne­y in the Final on Sunday evening. Darragh Slattery was the winning captain.

Round 2 of Phase 2 of the County Under 12 Hurling leagues will take place on this Friday evening with all games at 6.30p.m. Check with clubs for details.

Camogie

BEST of luck to the Kerry camogie team in the All-Ireland Junior Final against Dublin at Croke Park this Sunday. The game throws in at 12 noon and will be the first of a treble bill that also includes the intermedia­te and senior camogie finals.

North Kerry

ST Brendans won the North Kerry Under 15 ‘B’ Championsh­ip [Edmund Flahive Memorial Shield] on Saturday last when they had a 4-16 to 2-3 win over Tralee Parnells at Abbeydorne­y. Player of the Match, Seán Brosnan, was also the St Brendans captain.

Tralee Parnells won the North Kerry Under 13 ‘B’ Hurling Championsh­ip Final [Michael O’Connell Memorial Shield] on Tuesday at Kilmoyley. They defeated Ballyheigu­e in the Final by 1-7 to 1-5. Rory Reen was the Tralee Parnells captain while Andrew Kerins was Player of the Match.

The North Kerry Under 16 competitio­ns begin on this Sunday, 9 September while the next Under 10 Blitz will be hosted by Tralee Parnells at Caherslee on this Saturday, September 8 commencing at 10am.
