Athletico Ardfert will be hard to beat if they rediscover their form

-

DENNY DIVISION 1A

THERE are eight teams in this division so competition will be very keen for those two slots in the final.

On paper Athletico Ardfert are probably the best side here but they showed some indifferent form last year and failed to challenge in the title race. They have a very strong panel and if they can get off to a good start they are the side to look out for in this division.

Ballyheigue Athletic have the credentials to feature in the title race after going close to reaching the final last season. Michael Leane has been doing a great job with the side and with the club also having a B side it gives them plenty of options as regards players.

Rattoo Rovers who have been going through tough times in recent seasons could also be a threat if they can get a decent side together again. They struggled for a long time last season but Tom Foran will have his side on their toes for the new season and they will be right in there fighting for a place in the final.

Ballyhar Dynamos are another side that could be in the mix. They enjoyed a very successful league run last season and Donal O’Donoghue will be hoping his charges can become involved in the title race.

Strand Road and Sporting Listowel struggled last season but they can wipe the slate clean now and plan to account for themselves much better for the new season.

Newly promoted Asdee Rovers and Listowel Celtic B face a difficult task but they will be hoping they can stick the pace at this level.

Listowel Celtic have a young panel of players and won’t be lacking in confidence while Asdee will be aiming for a mid table finish. Prediction for the final: Athletico Ardfert v Ballyheigue
