There was no winner of this weeks Mountcollins AFC lotto where the numbers drawn were 4, 8, 10 and 14. The winners of the lucky dip draw were, Dan Cahill, Rockchapel, Timmy O Sullivan, Brosna, Joseph Quinn, Fulham, London, Margaret and Catherine Curtin, Kostal and Patrick Carroll, Rockchapel. The promoter’s prize went to Seamus Murphy.

The numbers drawn in last weeks Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA lotto were 2, 22, 23 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. The winners of the lucky dip draw were Martin Flannery,Rockchapel, Elaine Healy, Abbeyfeale, Diarmuid, McCarthy, Mountcollins and Noreen and Davy Dillane. The promoter’s prize went to Noel Dillane. CEILI:
Ceili dancing returns to Halla Tadgh Gealach, Tournafulla on Friday night week, September 7th. Dancing will commence at 9.30pm to the music of the Johnny Reidy Ceili Band. Refreshments will be served on the night and all are welcome
RECENT WEDDING
Congratulations to Donagh Walsh, High Rd, Mountcollins and Kate O Connor, Raheen, Limerick who were married in the Church of the Assumption,Mountcollins on Saturday last. The ceremony was preformed by Canon John O Shea and Fr Denis Mullane P.P. Afterwards the O Connor and Walsh familys were joined by family and friends for a most enjoyable reception in the Devon Inn Hotel where we enjoyed excellent food and great music to the early hours. We wish Kate and Donagh many years of happiness in their new home in Abbeyfeale.
CEMETERY COLLECTION:
The annual collection for the upkeep of our local cemetery will take place before the 11am mass in Mountcollins on Sunday next, September 9th. Our community cemetery is most convenient surrounding the church in the centre of the village. It is always well maintained thanks to the hard work of caretaker Davy Dillane. All grave owners from the parish and out side are asked to show their appreciation for the efforts of Davy and his family in the annual maintanance of our cemetery on Sunday next.
RECENT DEATH: Sympathy is extended to the family of Danny Spillane late of the UK and West End, Mountcollins who passed away recently. His remains were laid to rest in the local cemetery after requiem mass in Mountcollinson Tuesday last. May he Rest in Peace.
GAA CLUB:
Mountcollins Intermediate footballers made the long journey to Martinstown on last Wednesday evning for a vital round four game in the county championship. Playing their best football to date in the competition, Mountcollins secured a 2-12 to 1-12 win over pre match favourites Galtee Gales. With one group game remaining the local side need a win or draw against Castlemahon to avoid relegation trouble. The best of luck to the team and management in the fixture.
CLUB NA NOG
Our under 13 footballers had home advantage on last Thursday evening in the county championship against Caherconlish. Despite a good performance from the home side the visitors collected the points with a strong physical display against a very young Mountcollins side who tried hard up to the final whistle.
