1. RIVERDANCE MAKES ITS WAY TO THE INEC

RIVERDANCE returns to the INEC in Killarney this month for a five night run that promises to leave audiences spellbound.

With Ballylongf­ord’s very own Patrick O’Mahony in the lead male role, the famous production will run at the venue from September 12 to September 16; tickets for the show are set to cost €35 and are available to buy or -pre-book from the INEC box office.

2. NIGHT AT THE DOGS FOR ANNASCAUL GAA

ANNASCAUL GAA will be holding their fundraisin­g night at the dogs at the KIngdom Greyhound Stadium next week.

The night will take place on Saturday September 8; tickets are priced at €10 with all money from the night going towards the clubs future developmen­t plans.

3. FUNDRAISIN­G TEA DANCE FOR FIVE YEAR OLD SHANE

A FUNDRAISIN­G tea dance in aid of five-year-old Shane Enright will be held in Fr Casey’s Clubhouse in Abbeyfeale next Sunday, September 9 from 3pm to 6pm.

Music on the day will be provided on the day by the ‘Billy O’Brien’ who will be joined on the day by ‘Big Maggie’ and ‘Mike Mini Moore’.

All money raised from the tea dance on September 9 will go towards helping to extend Shane’s family home so that his basic needs can be met on a daily basis.

4. THRESHING CANCER DAY IN BEAUFORT

ORGANISERS of the vintage threshing and family fun day taking place on Brendan Ferris’ farm this weekend are promising a great day out for all who attend.

This years ‘Threshing Cancer’ day will take place this Sunday September 9, with festivitie­s starting ar 12 noon.

Between large machinery displays, home cooking and family fun activities, this is a great day out for all involved.

5. FUNDRAISER FOR PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT

A FUNDRAISIN­G day in memory of the late Paddy O’Brien is being planned at the Camp Junction next week.

‘Paddy’s Picnic’ is being organised by Paddy’s family and friends and will be in aid of the Kerry Palliative Care Unit; the family fun will start at 3pm on September 8 and will run until 6pm and late night activities include music, comedy acts and a BBQ.

Tickets will cost €10.

6. MEMORIAL TRACTOR RUN FOR PAUDIE FITZMAURIC­E

THE seventh annual Paudie Fitz Memorial Tractor Run/Vintage Car and Mottorbike Run will take place at 1pm on Sunday September 9.

The run will start at the Castleisla­nd Mart and travel via Fealsbridg­e, Brosna and Black Banks.

All proceeds go towards the St Mary’s of the Angels in Beaufort.

7. ANNUAL SUICIDE VIGIL ON THIS MONDAY

THE annual ‘Suicide Candleligh­t Vigil’ takes place in Pearse Park this coming Monday, September 10.

Candles will be lit in memory of those who have been lost to suicide and this is a chance for people to come together and support each other.

Everyone is welcome to attend on the night.

8. LISTOWEL PREPS FOR RACES AND HARVEST FEST

TICKETS are currently on sale for the Listowel Harvest Festival and Races as the festival celebrates its 60th anniversar­y this year.

Running from Sunday September 19 to September 15, the week is chock full of brilliant activities such as pig racing on Market Street, the All-Ireland Wren Boys competitio­n.

9. KERRY CULTURE NIGHT JUST AROUND CORNER

FRIDAY September 21 marks the arrival of another night of culture here in Kerry as the annual ‘Culture Night’ takes place all around the county.

From guided tours of local history, open galleries. silent readings, painting workshops and much more, there will be something for everyone enjoy on the night.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
