Stars of the weekend
MAIN MAN – BARRY JOHN KEANE
On a weekend of huge scoring totals – by teams and individuals – it needed something more than just a big number in brackets after the name to be the standout player last weekend. Others scored more, but Barry John Keane’s six points from play and overall performance was critical to Kerins O’Rahillys beating Dr Crokes.
ONE TO WATCH – SEÁN T DILLON
The Feale Rangers man looked, in the words of Rangers selector Johnny Mulvihill, “a typical North Kerry defender” last weekend against St Kierans. On the basis of what we saw last weekend the All Ireland minor and junior winner is the type of defender Kerry could do with. No nonsense and full-blooded.
HE’S STILL GOT IT – PAT CORRIDAN
The 2007 County Championship winner rolled back the years to put in a simply sensational performance for Feale Rangers against St Kierans in Listowel on Sunday afternoon. He was central to so much of Feale Rangers good play, the block he effected on Luka Brosnan was demonstrative of his desire and drive.
