BEST of luck to South Kerry against Rathmore in the County SFC this weekend.

St Michaels /Foilmore 3-7

THE game got off to a flying start, with an early goal from Brian Smith putting St Michaels /Foilmore into the lead. St Michaels/Foilmore were much sharper in the early exchanges, Brian Smith with a second Goal and a point from his brother Alan rewarding their dominance.

An Eoin O’Neill, led comeback brought Renard back into the game, with an O’Neill goal and point, and two converted free’s from Kevin Curran. A sucker-punch third goal from Brian Smith extended St Michaels / Foilmore’s lead once more. Renard put over two more points from Eoin O’Neill and Paudie Casey, with a Darren O’Sullivan point for St Michaels / Foilmore the last score of the first half.

This left a half-time score of Renard 1-5 St Mls / Foilmore 3-2. Renard started the second half well, with points from Fionan Kissane, Eoghan McCrohan and a Kevin Curran free kick narrowing the gap.

Two well taken free kicks by St Michaels / Foilmore’s Alan Smith and Darren O’Sullivan kept the pressure on. Midway through the second half, an Eoin O’Neill point and Sean O’Connor goal put Renard in front for the first time in the game.

Two well converted Kevin Curran free kicks pushed the lead out to four points, and despite a freekick from Alan Smith and two Darren O’Sullivan points, Renard finished out the game with a one point victory. A hugely enjoyable game for players and spectators.

Dromid Pearses received a walk over from Skellig Rangers.

The final will be between Renard and Dromid Pearses this weekend. Venue Renard.

Blitzes

DERRYNANE held a very successful Under 12 blitz enjoyed by Sneem/Derrynane A+B, Waterville, Dromid Pearses, St Mary’s, Renard A+B, Templenoe.

Sneem / Derrynane won the Joseph White Cup with victory over St Marys in the Final.Templenoe were victorious in the Shield donated by Breda Clifford with victory over Dromid Pearses.

Eoghan MacCrohan was chief organiser of a Under 9 blitz played in Dromid as part of his third level education programme. Eoghan wishes to thank all who supported .Teams that attended were Renard, Sneem / Derrynane, St Marys, St Michaels, Dromid Pearses, Foilmore and Waterville.
