Strong start to the season for Killorglin in Under 13 Premier

DALY’S SUPERVALU UNDER 13 Premier

KILLORGLIN went 1-0 up in the first half at home to Tralee Dynamos A. It got better for the home side when they added two more without reply after the break. The goals came from Andrew Owens and Jack McGrath who was making his A team debut. Niall O’Brien was the best player on show for Killorglin.

Listowel Celtic won 2-1 at home to Killarney Celtic with all the goals coming in the second half.

Luke O’Regan put the home side 1-0 up 15minutes after the break before Jamie Moynihan equalised for Killarney Celtic five minutes later.

The winner came from Evan Boyle mid-way through the second half giving Listowel Celtic the best possible start to the new season.

Division 1

INTER Kemare put in a great performanc­e against a young Tralee Dynamos side who battled to the end. The Inter goals came from Barry Fitzsimons, Zach O’Shea, Ben O’Callaghan, Daniel Grebowiec and Darragh Murphy from the penalty spot.

The game between Killarney Celtic B and Mastergeeh­a A was a cracker. Emmet Spillane put Mastergeeh­a 1-0 before two goals from Joey McCarthy put Celtic ahead at the break. Within a few minutes of the restart Jack Tangney had brought the sides level again.

Celtic hit back with Oisin Fleming looking like he had won the three points for the Killarney side.

However, within four minutes of the end John Hughes, who was the man of the match for his side, drew the sides level. Tom Purcell was the best Celtic player on the day where both sides gave it their all.

Division 2 South

KILLARNEY Athletic B put in a very strong performanc­e as they saw off Mastergeeh­a B at Kilbrean Park.

For the home side Gavin Morrissey was the best player on a day that went against them. On the mark for Killarney Athletic were Luke Doolan, Daire Kingston, Thomas Healy, Denzel Aydiner, David O’Brien, Glen Bowler and from Glen and Oran O’Neill.

Division 2 North

TWO goals from Leigh Meehan gave LB Rovers a 2-1 lead at half-time at home to Castleisla­nd B with Eoghan Shire’s goal keeping the visitors in the game.

However the second half was a different story with Shire getting his second and this was added to by goals from Declan Murray and Evan Brennan.

Patrick Walsh pulled one back for the home side but time ran out on them as they chased an equaliser.

In the clash of the two St Brendan’s Park teams it was the Cs that saw off the Bs. For the Cs’ the goals came from Oisin Cronin, Ryan Driscoll, Ronan Carroll, Jerry Lynch, Liam O’Connell, and Sam Slattery. Their best player on the day was Daniel Sheehy.

The Bs’ goals came from William Jakovi who got two and Jakob Murkowski.
