Tralee Warriors to face champions Templeogue

SCOTTS Lakers welcome Fr Mathews, Cork, for the first home game of the new season in Killarney Sports Centre on this Saturday at 7.30 pm. The Lakers enjoyed some many memorable nights with record crowds in the Sports Centre last season and are hopeful that Killarney and Kerry basketball fans will come out in force again this season.

Fr Mathews lost out to league favourites Ballincoll­ig last weekend but they will travel to Killarney with confidence after toppling the Lakers there last season. The Lakers made up for that league defeat with a stunning Cup quarter-final win in Cork last December.

Mathews will be led by American Deon Baker and Serbian Darko Bucan alongside Donal McCarthy, Luke O Mahony, Barry THERE will be a mouth-watering opening to the 2018/19 Hula Hoops Men’s National Cup this season as reigning champions Templeogue will host Garvey’s Tralee Warriors in a hugely-anticipate­d clash.

The draw was made at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght as part of the official launch of the 2018/19 Basketball Ireland season,

Denieffe , Mike McGinn and Diego O’Herlihy and will provide a tough test for the Lakers.

The Killarney side hope to welcome Dailian Mason back from which sees a huge 49 clubs competing in the senior National League and Cups this year.

In the Men’s Division One, the President’s Cup draw sees Abbey Seals Dublin Lions host Scotts Lakers St Paul’s Killarney in a hugely-anticipate­d game.
