AYRTON Group founder Kieran Linehan reflects on 25 years in business
WHEN I started out on this journey way back in 1991, little did I know that I would be here today celebrating 25 years in business, surrounded by an amazing team of 125 people and serving more than 3,000 loyal customers all over Ireland, as well as the U. K., Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and The Netherlands.
During that time, there is little doubt but that we have saved several lives, and helped prevent countless accidents, by making the workplaces, factories, offices, care homes, hospitals & construction sites where we work, far safer places.
Our success is built on the foundations of the amazing Team I feel privileged to lead with my fellow Directors, Matthew Browne and Pat O’Neill. I firmly believe that great leadership is about influence, not authority and I try to apply that belief every day at AYRTON Group. Our culture is very open and collaborative and such is the influence of our wider Team on the business that I recently thanked them for ‘ leading me’. I should also acknowledge, the role played by my wife Helen, without whom none of this would have been achieved.
Despite the fact, that we are now the leading company in our space nationally, with a large operation in Dublin and that we have a growing International client base, we remain firmly rooted in the North Cork community. Without the support and loyalty of our local community AYRTON Group would not be here to celebrate 25 years in business.
Our Newmarket premises is, and will continue to be our head office, where all key decisions are made. We are really proud to be able to provide quality career opportunities for the local community.
Indeed, it is a core value of the company to play an active and meaningful role locally and we try to support initiatives and organisations that work hard in the interests of all who live locally.
For example, we run free Heart Saver courses every year, we sponsor clubs such as Killavullen GAA, Meelin GAA, Newmarket GAA, Kanturk Basketball and the Cystic Fibrosis Organisation (Build 4 Life), The Mark Pollock Trust for spinal injury research among others.”
OUR business has changed significantly since 1993. We have worked hard to ensure that we continue to evolve and grow by innovating to ensure that we stay relevant to our wide array of clients.
Our services can be divided into 3 main categories: Safety Training, Safety Consultancy and Staffing Solutions.
Our Training team comprises 65 expert trainers, who deliver Health & Safety training courses at our two dedicated training centres in Cork and Dublin as well as at client premises.
Our 20 member Consultancy Team provides our clients with unrivalled expertise across a multitude of Health and Safety disciplines. Our Consultancy Services incorporate many aspects from advising clients on their legislative obligations to assisting them with statutory documentation such as Safety Statements, Safety Plans, Safety Files & so on.
Finally, our Staffing Solutions offering helps clients to overcome the challenge of sourcing the people with the requisite skills and qualifications they need across many industries and disciplines. The current skills shortage in many areas of industry has been well documented but we have an active database of qualified, experienced professionals that we can place within client companies as required.
