U12 : Our U12s had a great victory over Lixnaw last Friday evening in Lixnaw. Score : Abbeydorne­y 5-05 Lixnaw 0-05. Next up is Ballyduff this Friday evening @ 6.30pm in Abbeydorne­y.

U16 : Our U16 team are due to play Ballyduff in the N.K. C’Ship this Sunday. Please check with trainers re: this fixture. MINOR COUNTY CHAMPIONS : Our Minor team secured their place in the Co. League Div. 1 Final after a hard fought battle with Crotta O’Neills in Abbeydorne­y last Friday evening. Extra-time was required to separate the sides with our team coming away with a 3 point victory on a scoreline of 3-20 to 3-17. They will now face Ballyheigu­e/ Causeway in a repeat of the C’Ship Final. Date and venue TBC.

U21 : Round 1 of the Co. U21 C’Ship takes place on Saturday, September 15th. Abbeydorne­y/B’heigue -v- Kenmare/Kilgarvan in Abbeydorne­y @ 4.00pm. This is a provisiona­l date and subject to change. In the N.K. U21 C’Ship, we received a bye and will play Kilmoyley/Stacks in the semi-final. Date and Venue TBC.

SENIORS : Our Senior team was defeated by Kilmoyley in the quarter-final of the N.K. Senior C’Ship on Friday, 31st August in Kilmoyley. Final Score : Abbeydorne­y 2-12 Kilmoyley 2-04. LAST MAN STANDING : Many Thanks to all who supported our Bord Na nÓg fundraiser. The competitio­n kicked off on September 1st so best of luck to all who entered. a few fundraisin­g initiative­s taking place over the coming weeks. We would like any parents and players to give up an hour of their time on Saturday to help man the bucket collection. The Ball Wall will be a great asset to our club when complete and we would appreciate if any one could give up an hour of their time on Saturday. SENIOR HURLERS: Ballyduff senior hurlers qualified for the final of the North Kerry Senior Hurling Championsh­ip by virtue of a two points victory over County Champions, Lixnaw, at Ballyduff on Friday evening last. Ballyduff started brightly with points from Eoin Ross and Podge Boyle but wayward shooting prevented them from pulling away. A goal from Aidan Boyle left them leading at halftime Ballyduff 1 - 8 Lixnaw 0 7. Ballyduff went six points ahead but a goal from Lixnaw brought them level but two superb points from Jack Goulding, one from a sideline and one from play, sealed it for Ballyduff. Final score Ballyduff 1 - 15 Lixnaw 1 13.

This game was played in poor weather conditions, finished in semi darkness and one would question the wisdom of playing evening games at this time of the year with players back to College and some working away from home.
