KILMOYLEY

JUVENILE HURLING: Our U10 team braved the damp conditions on Saturday morning to take part in the final North Kerry U10 blitz of the season in Caherslee, Tralee. They had four matches to play against Tralee Parnells, Crotta, Causeway and Lixnaw winning two of the matches and narrowly losing out on winning a third. A great performance by this young team, many thanks to the players and mentors. U12sHaving been joint winners of Division 2 Phase 1 of the County League, the U12 team are now competing in Division 1 for Phase 2. They have played two matches this week meeting Crotta away on Tuesday evening and despite a good performance Crotta proved much stronger on the evening. Friday saw them back on the pitch to take on Ballyheigue away also. With the sides evenly matched at half time it was all to play for. However, a few unanswered scores for Ballyheigue in the second half saw them take the win with a final scoreline of Ballyheigue 4-09 Kilmoyley 3-07. Next up for the team is a game against Tralee Parnells scheduled for Friday next.

U16: The U16 team played their first match of the North Kerry U16 B championship against Tralee Parnells on Sunday, last but were defeated on this occasion. They play South Kerry this Sunday in Round 2. SENIORS: North Kerry Championship semi final result - Kilmoyley 2-15 Causeway 1-7. Well done to the team on progressing to the final where they will face Ballyduff. CAMOGIE - Cillard, well done to the Cillard U12 girls who won their match against Causeway on Monday evening KERRY U14S: The Kerry Under 14 Camogie side came so close to winning the Division four blitz in Abbotstown, Dublin at the weekend. Kerry had defeated Wicklow, Tyrone, Cavan and Westmeath to qualify for the final against Mayo. Kerry scored a late goal in the final, but Mayo held on by a point to lift the Cup on a scoreline of 2-6 to 2-5. Well done to the girls on their effort. KERRY SENIORS: Sunday’s trip to Croke Park proved to be a disappointing game for the Kerry camogie team who were beaten 1-12 to 0-6 by Dublin in the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Championship Final. Despite a tremendous effort by the Kerry girls, Dublin just proved to be that little bit better on the day, with their experience of playing in a division higher than Kerry in the league proving crucial. But the Kerry players can feel very proud of their achievement in getting to the final, and for giving their supporters many enjoyable and memorable days out this year. Special mention to the Kilmoyley players Eilish Harrington, Orla Young, Laura Collins, Jessica Fitzell and Bríd Horan and to mentor Pete Young. on Wednesday last. They will play East Kerry in the final with a date and time to be confirmed.
