Tech Amergin open for business as it advertises Autumn Programme for 2018

IF you or someone you know are looking to upskill this winter or are just interested in taking up a brand new hobby, you are in luck, as the Tech Amergin centre in Waterville has just released its programme of events for Autumn 2018.

With a number of QQI Accredited Courses in areas such as ‘Arts, Crafts and Design’, Informatio­n Technology and Child Care/Health Care, there is plenty for everyone to choose from.

Individual classes which are covered by the ‘Arts, Crafts & Design’ module include classes on clay, painting, woodwork for beginners and drawing for beginners.

Under the ‘Informatio­n Technology’ heading, people will be able to take a QQI Accredited Course in ‘Digital Photograph­y for Beginners’.

Finally, under the banner of ‘ Child Care and Health Care’. the public will be able to undertake classes in the modules such as ‘ Understand­ing Community Developmen­t’ and ‘First Aid Responders’.

A number of non-accredited courses then include classes such as ‘Art & Design for the Active Retired’, ‘Woodwork for Fun’, ‘Pottery for House and Garden’, ‘Painting Doctor’, ‘Basic Sewing’, ‘Introducti­on to Stained Glass’, ‘Yoga’, ‘Creative Writing’ ‘Fiddling with Fabric’ and ‘Adobe Lightroom’.

Registrati­on for this season’s programme of classes/events takes place this coming Friday September 14 from 6pm to 8pm.

The evening will be a great opportunit­y to come and speak with teaching staff at the centre about a course that you are interested in or they can help guide you towards a course.
