KERRY’S own kind-hearted trio of Jean O’Sullivan, Colin McGillycuddy and Mickey Ned O’Sullivan are hoping that as many clubs as possible get on board with their upcoming football blitz fundraiser.

A fundraiser for St Francis’ Special School in Beaufort, the football blitz will be taking place on Saturday, October 13 at the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence in Currans.

“We’ve invited all the under 10 teams in the county to come and take part in a day-long football blitz and we will have Kerry players past and present there on the day refereeing a few matches and meeting our teams as well,” said Jean.

Jean’s son goes to school in Beaufort, and she said that the fundraiser will be a great fun-day out for kids and a chance for clubs to get behind what Jean describes as “some of the most special kids in Kerry”.

Any club seeking to register teams for the blitz can do so by contacting Jean on 087 2256338 and it will cost €100 per club for teams to enter which can be paid on the day.

“All of the money raised will go towards improving the services of St Francis’ Special School and the great work that they do there,” Jean added.

Kerry Group and Pat Sheahan’s Centra are the main sponsors of the event and Jean said it would simply not have been possible without the support of these two parties.

Don’t miss out on this great family day out.
