Golf Classic in Ballyheigue raises over €8,600 for Brú Columbanus

-

A RECENT Golf Classic fundraiser in aid of Brú Columbanus, Cork, that took place at Ballyheigue Castle Golf Club has raised €8,603 for this very worthy cause. This cheque was presented to Anne Marie O’Connor on behalf of Brú Columbanus at Ballyheighue Castle Golf Club on Sunday last.

Brú Columbanus is an independant charity that provides “Home from Home” accommodation for relatives of seriously ill patients in any of the Cork Hospitals or Hospice especially relatives of sick children.

Brú Columbanus is managed by an Independant Board and depends entirely on donations and fundraising initiatives to cover the running of the house.

The home was established in 2005 and was an initiative of the Knights of St. Columbanus. Accommodation is provided at no charge to in excess of 500 families who use the facility each year and it is maintained by a team of volunteers who give time and expertise freely.

The golf classic organiser thank all those who sponsored, played and gave spot prizes.
