The Kerryman (North Kerry)

Championship gets underway Saturday

-

Mairead O’Sullivan

TO kick-start the Bernard O’Callaghan Memorial Senior Championship of 2018 we have Asdee at home to Finuge, with Asdee manager John Kennedy having knowledge of both camps after spending a term with Finuge as manager also.

Can Kennedy pull of the tackle battle needed from the sidelines to bring his native Asdee into the quarter-finals? Will Finuge dual players be saving themselves for Lixnaw’s Munster campaign?

Well all questions will be answered this Saturday in Asdee at 3.30pm.

The second game of the weekend will see Ballylongford take on one of the hot favourites this year Tarbert. Tarbert are on a high from a very successful County League campaign and are keeping things quiet and coming in under the radar, Ballylongford have a young team and in opposite contrast are facing Division 5 of the county league next year.

Could Ballylongford pull of a shock on their home ground well Sunday, October 7 in O’Rahilly Park at 2.30pm will show the North Kerry following what both sides are all about? We’ll soon see.
