1. DINGLE PREPS FOR FANTASTIC FOOD FESTIVAL

THE always brilliant Dingle Food Festival takes place this weekend from Friday October 5 to Sunday October 7.

Festivitie­s kick off on Friday night with a sing-a-long in Dick Mack Yards yard at 9pm which will then be followed by the Festival’s opening night party at the Dingle Bay Hotel at 10pm.

2. HEALTH & WELLNESS FEST IN MANOR WEST

THERE is a great lineup in store at this weekends premiere Health & Wellness Festival in Manor West Hotel.

The event is being organised by the team at Horan’s Healthstor­es and they will run on Saturday October 6 and again on Sunday October 7.

Some of the activities over the weekend include key speakers from Ireland, the UK and the USA, workshops on on cholestrol, skin care, food intoleranc­e and vitamin and mineral testing.

Tickets for the weekend will cost €10 and are available to buy from Horan’s Healthstor­es.

3. SAMARITANS TO HOLD INFORMATIO­N EVENING

THE Kerry branch of Samaritans will next week hold an informatio­n night in Tralee for all those interested in joining the organisati­on.

The group is new looking for new volunteers who want to come onboard and help with the numerous contacts that the organisati­on reveals on a yearly basis - last year there was over 14,700 contacts.

The informatio­n evening will be held on Friday October 5 at 7:30pm in the Samaritans centre in Tralee which is located at 43-44 in Moyderwell.

4. CATCH SOME Z’S IN RATHMORE CENTRE

AN exciting weekend of learning about landscapes will take place in both Waterville and Caherdanie­l this weekend.

The ‘Iveragh Learning Landscapes Weekend’ runs from Friday October 5 to Monday October 8 and will feature sustainabi­lity talks, workshops, drumming sessions, rock art, celestial walks. hiking and yoga.

5. CHARITY TABLE QUIZ IN THE ASHE HOTEL IN TRALEE

A TABLE quiz in aid of a charity abseil will take place in The Ashe Hotel tomorrow, October 4.

Tralee’s Mike Edgar took part in an abseil from Croke Park at the start of the Summer with all funds from the abseil going towards his chosen charity of Jigsaw Kerry.

The table quiz will start at 7:30pm so don’t miss out on this great night of testing your brains.

6. ADAPT CHARITY SHOP TO HOLD FASHION SHOW

WITH just over two weeks to go until the ADAPT Kerry Charity Fashion Show, there is still a chance for you to get your hands on some tickets for the night.

This years fashion show will take place on Friday October 19 at 7:30pm in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel and doors are set to open at 7pm; to buy tickets, call into the shop.

7. BEAUFORT TO HOLD FILM SCREENING NIGHT

BEAUFORT film night returns for another screening which will take place at the Inn Between Bar in Beaufort on Friday October 5 at 8:30pm.

Australian drama Rabbit-Proof Fence is the geature film on the night along with a screening of silm ‘The Timekeeper’.

Admission to the films will be €7.

8. JOHN B KEANE’S ‘MATCHMAKER’ IN SIAMSA TÍRE

JOHN B Kean’e famed play ‘The Matchmaker’ will be performed in Siamsa Tíre on the night of Thursday October 11.

The production stars Mary McEvoy and Irish comedian Jon Kenny; tickets for this not to be missed show are set to cost €23 and are on sale from the Siamsa Tíre website or box office.

9. INEC SET TO DO ‘THE FULL MONTY’ NEXT MONTH

THE stage production of ‘The Full Monty’ is set to be performed in the INEC in Killarney on Saturday October 13.

Tickets for the show are currently on sale from the INEC website or box office and are set to cost from €28 onwards.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
