Delight for U13s in Clare

-

KERRY completed their U-15 League of Ireland season in impressive fashion as they defeated Carlow/Kilkenny 3-2 at Mounthawk Park. The visitors were looking for their fifth win from six games that had already seen them top the Group.

Kerry have been competitive all season and a bit of luck could have seen then possible top Carlow/Kilkenny. And in this their last game Kerry again showed this winning 3-2.

The visitors took the lead after 10 minutes but Kerry levelled when Sean Horan got on the end of a great Caolan O’Connell pass. Into the second half and again Carlow/Kilkenny took the lead but Kerry responded right away and were level thanks to Rob Vassiu.

And Kerry sent their big support home happy when Eoin McGrath finished a great passing movement the saw then go the length of the field for the winner – a fitting end to the season.

Thoughts will now turn to next season which will begin in March with trial dates to be announced in the coming weeks. KERRY opened their Subway U-13 Inter League campaign with a very good 3-1 win away in Clare. Jack Slattery, Fionn Nolan and Thomas Healy. Both sides had two squads on duty and in the Development Games Kerry won 6-4.

Eoghan Shire hit two with Mikey Murphy, Andrew Kerins, Andrew Owens and JJ Olajitian getting one each. Kerry will be at home to Limerick Desmond later in the month.
