RESULTS NORTH KERRY SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP - Round 1 Emmets 1-15 V St Senans 2-15 In a mouth-watering encounter for the neutral this game lived up to all expectations as both teams gave a great display of heart, guts and determination in a bid to advance to the next round of this competition. The home side started brightly racing in to a five point before Emmets settled down and finished the first half out strongly with Ger McCarthy, Niall Collins, Joe Joe Grimes and Conor Cox driving them on. Emmets came racing out of the blocks after half time and thanks to a Cox penalty went in to a four point lead and looked to be in control of that game. Senans introduced Damian Somers and Sean Weir and started to gain a foothold out around the middle and while opportunities were at a

minimum in front of goal they took their chances well and went in front as the full time whistle approached. Emmets broke well from the restart and some excellent work from Bryan Sweeney and Sean Keane resulted in an Emmets free which Conor Cox converted with ease to send the game to Extra Time. The following twenty minutes were nip and tuck with both teams calling on last reserves to get them over the line. Ultimately it was Senans day as they ground out the result with Emmets out on their feet. This was a fine performance from a very young Emmets side who will most definitely be a force to be reckoned with next year.

COISTE NA NOG North Kerry U16 Championship Div 1 - Final Emmets 4-11 V Ballyduff 3-05 Last Sunday morning our U16’s took on Ballyduff in the North Kerry Championship Final in Moyvane. Ballyduff started off well with good points from Kevin Goulding. Emmets hit back with a cracking goal from Niall Lynch to bring them back into the game. There was no stopping Ballyduff’s Number 11 Kevin Goulding however, who fired over some lovely scores from his left, right, and off the ground and goaled just before half-time to put his side firmly in control of proceedings. Just two minutes into the second half Goulding fired home another goal after a brilliant run to give Tom Hart no chance in the Emmets net. Listowel were dealt a big blow shortly after as they were reduced to 14 men but to their credit never gave up. Niall Lynch got his second goal of the game as the final whistle approached but it was too late as Ballyduff came out on top winning 4-12 to 3-5.
