VILLAGE FESTIVAL

The 26th Village Festival will take place this Bank Holiday weekend and hopefully the weather will be nice so that everyone can have an enjoyable weekend. It starts with the Rambling House on Friday night in the Marian Hall. On Saturday night the 15th Boro Buffet takes place in the Community Centre with catering by Eabha Joan’s Restaurant Listowel and Music & Dancing with Stevie Donegan. Doors open at 7.30pm. Sunday is Vintage Trade & Craft Fair day at the Community Centre. Dog Show & Kiddies Tractor run, which is open to boys & girls will also be held on Sunday. You must bring your own tractor! Monday sees the First Hunt of the season for the North Kerry Harriers and the Fancy Dress party for children will be held in the Community Centre this year. Please see posters for further details.

NEWTOWNSOU­NDS LIPSKIT

This takes place on Saturday, December the 01 in the Community Centre. Tickets can be booked by contacting Katie on 0870568209. Please book tickets ASAP as we have a limited number left. Rehearsals are going great and the groups are really getting into character, some have even been spotted signing autographs in Bally!! A great night of entertainm­ent is in store, so please do book your tickets!!

HALLOWEEN CAMP

Scartaglen Childcare Centre are holding a Halloween Camp on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday October 30, 31 and November 1 from 9.30 am 1pm and is for 3-6 year olds. Full day care is available from 8am to 6pm. There will be plenty of games and activities to keep the children busy. Halloween outfits can be worn to the camp. CANCER COLLECTION

The recent annual church gate collection in aid of the Irish Cancer Society which was held in Scartaglen realised the sum of E335. A word of thanks again to all who contribute­d and to Noreen Riordan and Sheila McEnery of Barna who helped to take up this collection.

GAA LOTTO DRAW

Scartaglen GAA Clubs latest Lotto Draw took place in Hughes’ Bar on Saturday night last. The jackpot of E4,800 was not won. Numbers drawn were: 15, 18, 25, 28. Consolatio­n prizewinne­rs in the Lucky Dip draw were as follows: E40 Anna Kerins, Knockrour ; E30 Sean Kerins, Carker ; Mike Murphy, Mount ; E20 Pat Kerins, Knockrour ; Kathleen Horan, Coolnagera­gh ; Mary O Leary, Knockrour. INDOOR MARKET

The annual Indoor Market organised by the Kerry Parents and Friends will take place in Castleisla­nd Community Centre on Friday November 9. Collectors will be calling door to door over the coming weeks.
