A LIOS PÓIL woman who was was part of a two-woman group which took to the skies in aid of Kerry Hospice Foundation has sent out her sincerest thanks for all the support the duo received.

Geraldine Ashe joined Neasa Ní Mhathúna in Kilkenny for the ambitious sky dive in August, and she told The Kerryman this week that the dive and some separate fund-raising efforts raised an exceptional total of €10,245 for the very worthy charity.

The funds were presented to the foundation recently, and an overjoyed Geraldine was this week in a gratfeul mood.

“We’ve made the presentation, and raised €10,245, which was a brilliant result,” Geraldine said in recent days.

“We want to thank, firstly, our donors and supporters, and also Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne for hosting a separate bingo night fund-raiser.

“Our bus to Kilkenny was sponsored by members of the Annascaul and Lios Póil communities, and we’d like to thank Féile Lios Póil, Naoíonra Lios Póil, Béal Bán Races/Dingle Distillery, Tom O’Sullivan, and Nelligan’s Bar, all of whom gave us great support in raising such a huge sum of money.”
