Rathmore to dance all the way to Hollywood

- By SINEAD KELLEHER

IT went down a storm when it was last held, and the same support is expected this year as Rathmore GAA club and Rathmore Ladies Football join forces to bring their own version of Strictly Come Dancing to the stage.

This year’s theme is ‘Hollywood’, so each dance will be based on a specific song from a well-known movie.

Dance choreographer extraordinaire Joe Burkett is at the helm again producing this year’s event, which promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment.

Last year over 1,000 people attended the event and it’s expected that this huge support will be evident this year as well as 12 men and 12 women have volunteered to be put through their paces.

This line-up is set to include Kerry footballer Paul Murphy, who it would seem is doing some of his pre-season training on the dance floor this year.

Rehearsals have now begun and tickets at €20 are on sale for the key social event of the year, billed for the INEC in Killarney on November 17.

All funds will got towards to the financial cost of running the two local clubs.
