BALLYHEIGUE
COISTE NA NÓG:A large contingent of Ballyduff supporters made their way to Coolard on Sunday morning to cheer on the U13 footballers who were on a quest for another Tommy Madden title. Weather conditions were perfect and anticipation was high among both sets of supporters. Ballyduff started stronger and looked to be in control for long stretches of the first half and went into half time with a lead of five points, particularly thanks to Killian Boyle who found the net twice before the half time whistle. However Moyvane came out with all cylinders firing in the second half and managed to level the sides within ten minutes. It looked like it was all over in the dying minutes of the game as Moyvane were three points ahead, but one thing we’ve learned about this team is that they never give up, and credit to them they managed a draw sending the match to extra time. Unfortunately this is where we ran out of steam and Moyvane managed to pull away to secure their victory and claim the title for the second time in as many years. Congratulations to Killian Boyle for being nominated the Ballyduff Man of the Match. A big thanks to Noel, Steven and Joe for the work they have done with this team all year. Another Abbeydorney goal at the beginning of the second gave Ballyheigue an uphill battle. They tried hard but could not bridge the gap and Abbeydorney won by 3 points, 2-1 to 0-4.
