MUNSTER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL

Killarney Celtic v Bridgeview Utd (WWEC)

Sunday, November 3 Celtic Park, Killarney at 6pm

KILLARNEY Celtic host Bridgeview United next Sunday in the quarter-final of the Champions League Trophy. Bridgeview play in the Waterford East Cork League and will be formidable opponents. Celtic defeated Janesboro 2-1 in the first round while Bridgeview United beat UCC United 11-0.

However with home advantage Celtic should be good enough to secure a win but they now they will have to play up to scratch to achieve it.

Celtic won the inaugural Champions League Trophy back in 2011 at Turner’s Cross with a penalty shoot out win over Carrick United from Waterford.

Celtic forced the game to extra time after equalising three minutes into added time with a sensational Peter McCarthy strike.

The sides remained deadlocked after extra-time and goalkeeper Stephen Bartlett was the hero in the penalty shoot out making a couple of vital saved and Celtic won 4-3.
