Still time to apply for a lump sum fuel payment…

-

IF you’re reading this then you’ve missed the September 14 deadline for a lump sum payment for winter fuel. But don’t worry if you have as you still have an opportunity to apply for the second lump sum payment for January 2019.

The option of paying the Winter Fuel Allowance is now paid in two installments. This change was brought in last year and is basically giving people an option outside of the standard method of paying fuel allowance on a weekly basis, which is currently €22.50 per week for 26 weeks. This is a good time of year to consider stocking up on fuel, as the second half of winter is usually harder in terms of cold weather. Some people prefer the option of receiving a weekly payment, while others like to have a stock of fuel ready and waiting. You have until December 1, 2018 to apply for the lump sum payment of €315 which will be paid in the first week of January 2019. Ask for an ‘ FA CPF 1’ form at your local post office, Intreo Centre or Social Welfare Branch Office.
