-

this a another massive success, míle buíochas!

It’s that time of year again when we are planning our annual Xmas event which takes place on Saturday, December 22nd.

Beale GAA Club extend sympathies to the O’Connell family on their recent bereavement. Mike’s sister, Maureen, passed to her eternal reward after a long illness, bravely borne. Ar dheis Dé grub a h-anam uasal. Mike is former club vice-chairman and is a very active and influential member of our executive committee. His son, Jake, is player representative on the executive committee and an ace forward on our senior team, while Andy, Elaine and Brenda, have all donned the club colours.

There was no winner of the jackpot of €5,300. Lucky dip winners were Seamus Conway, Laccabawn; Jimmy Horan, Castleisland; James Maher, Churchtown; Jack O Connor, Scartaglen and Tom Browne, Castleisland. Our thanks to Betty and her staff for their courtesy and co-operation. NORTH KERRY INTERMEDIATE: The Junior team had an excellent win against Listowel in the semi final which was played in Knocknagoshel on Sunday.

Desmond’s had a dream start with a Graham O Connor goal in the 2nd minute quickly followed by a pointed free from Tommy Walsh. They had an advantage in physicality but their movement for each other; their capacity to move the ball quickly and accurately and ability to take their chances proved decisive. Listowel closed the gap but points from Sean Lynch and another goal from Tadhg Walsh gave them a 2-8 to 0-6 advantage at the break. Two goals from Listowel in the 3rd quarter narrowed the gap to 4 but Desmond’s scored the final 6 points to run out deserved winners.

It was overall, a team performance and they can look forward to the final with quiet confidence
