AT 8pm last Thursday, all the eyes of the crowded attendance turned to the red carpet, the phenomenal style and the breathtaking models that transformed the Rathmore Community Centre into a fashion sanctuary for the night.
Five years later and the Rathmore branch of the Friends of the Children of Chernobyl’s Annual Fashion Show is still a star of an event that hasn’t dulled each year it has been held.
A fantastic night was had by all, from those who participated on and off the carpet and to those who attended.
Models were styled in outfits from local boutiques Joi, Linehans, Fashion World, East 73rd, Mom 2B, Noirins, La Femme, Lady Lydia, Scarlett and So Elegant Hair Accessories.
And as prominent as style is in Kerry, football is undoubtedly on the same scale and it wouldn’t have been such an ideal night without the visit from members of the Kerry Minor football team who brought along the Tom Markham Cup to pose with in photos alongside some of the models of the night.
Refreshments of wine and cheese were enjoyed by all on the night and some lucky spectators left with some lavish spot prizes.
The vital funds raised will go towards helping the Rathmore branch of the Friends of the Children of Chernobyl continue their work.
Each summer, the Rathmore Chernobyl group bring children from Belarus to Ireland and the funds raised from the fashion show go towards the costs of this.
